Sabrina’s Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Recipe

Asparagus is in season from early spring to summer, making it the peak time to eat this tasty veggie, but really this recipe is great anytime of year. While they are delicious on their own, the crispy bacon just makes them all the more appetizing! Instead of wrapping them in bundles, I wrap each spear individually which makes them a perfect fancy yet easy appetizer to serve for a special dinner like Easter. This is definitely a recipe you’ll want to double or triple for a crowd because they will go fast!

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

Ingredients
 

  • 1 pound bacon
  • 1 bunch asparagus , thicker stalks are better
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cook the bacon strips until half-cooked in a large skillet, do not brown.
  • Dry asparagus well with paper towel.
  • Season the asparagus with the salt, pepper, paprika and cayenne pepper.
  • Wrap the asparagus with a piece of bacon and place it onto the baking sheet with the ends of the bacon under the asparagus on the sheet.
  • Bake for 16-18 minutes or until the asparagus are cooked through and bacon is crisp.
