Brown Gravy is rich, and perfect for big dinners. It’s easy to make from scratch, creating a depth of flavor no gravy packet could catch.

This easy gravy recipe is the perfect topping for classic Dinner Recipes. Serve it over Pot Roast, Roast Chicken, or Cube Steak.

Brown Gravy is wonderfully easy to make from scratch. It’s amazing to serve with holiday dinners, and tastes incredible poured over your turkey or baked ham recipe. Plus, it’s an incredible addition to your Mashed Potatoes. Essentially, the whole meal will taste even more incredible with the addition of this homemade gravy.

Ingredients
 

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Add butter to your large pan on medium heat (no need to wash if you’ve just cooked meat in the pan, the flavor will deepen the flavor of the gravy).
  • Whisk in the flour and cook for 3-4 minutes until the flour has begun to turn a rich brown color.
  • Whisk in the beef broth until smooth.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and black pepper, whisking well.
  • Keep whisking and cooking another 6-8 minutes until thickened.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes or cooked meat.
