Sabrina’s Tom Collins Cocktail Recipe

A Tom Collins Cocktail is a classic drink recipe first created in the 1870s. This classic bubbly drink is excellent for a dinner party or cocktail hour. The citrus flavors and fun, effervescent element also make the iced drink wonderfully refreshing. Or, if you’re throwing a casual party, you can serve it up with a Cheese Board, or other party appetizers like Fried Pickles.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces dry gin
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup
  • 1/2 cup Club soda
  • 1 lemon peel strip , for garnish
  • 1 slice lemon
  • maraschino cherry , for garnish

Instructions

  • To a mixing glass add gin, lemon juice and simple syrup and stir.
  • To a highball cocktail glass add ice and gin mixture then top off with club soda.
  • Stir gently with cocktail spoon before drinking so the heavier ingredients will mix with the club soda.
  • Twist lemon peel, drop inside and top with lemon slice and maraschino cherry.

Notes

Note: This cocktail should not be shaken in a cocktail shaker. Doing so can flatten the soda. Make in a mixing glass, and gently stir to combine everything.
