Cucumber Mint Water is cool, refreshing, and wonderfully light. It’s the perfect twist to staying hydrated throughout the day.

This is the perfect Drink Recipe to keep you hydrated. Just like my classic Cucumber Water, but with the addition of cool and lightly sweet mint for even more flavor.

Sabrina’s Cucumber Mint Water Recipe

Cucumber Mint Water is an easy beverage, simply by adding fresh vegetables and herbs to a pitcher of water to let it steep. A lot of store bought flavored waters include added sugar or artificial ingredients, but you’re avoiding that by making it yourself. The cooling nature of the cucumber and mint makes it especially great for pairing with spicy dishes like Spicy Ramen or Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches. Don’t forget to check out the variations below for more simple and quenching drinks.

Chef’s Note

Cucumber slices tend to float in water. For the best infusion you want the cucumbers and mint to be fully submerged. To help prevent it from floating right to the top, you can add ice over the top.

About this Recipe

If you ever have a hard time drinking enough water, flavored water makes for a more pleasant taste that you’ll keep coming back for. Cucumber water also contains antioxidants and is an excellent healthy substitute for sugary drinks.

Can this be made ahead of time?

Yes, you can make this infused water recipe a few days before and keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to serve. However, the cucumber slices will absorb water and become mushy the longer they are left in the water.

How to Store

  • Store: To maintain the fresh flavor, it’s best to keep covered in the fridge. Place a lid on the pitcher if you have one, or cover the container with plastic wrap to keep fresh. It can stay good in the fridge for 5-7 days.
  • Freeze: For another storage option, you can freeze the water recipe for up to 3 months. To freeze, pour into an ice cube tray and pop it in the freezer. You can add the ice cubes to a regular glass of water to add a little extra flavor, or let them thaw to serve.

Variations

  • Lime: You can add fresh lime slices to the mixture. Muddle the slices of lime along with the cucumber and mint to release some of the juice into the water.
  • Lemon: Lemon slices are another delicious option that you can incorporate the same way you would the lime slices.
  • More flavoring ingredients: You can add other fresh ingredients like fresh herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Try making the water with blueberries, kiwi, basil, rosemary, ginger, and celery.
  • Sparkling water: I used plain water for this recipe, but if you want a bubbly, effervescent option, you can swap out plain water for sparkling water.
