Sabrina’s Negroni Cocktail Recipe
A Negroni is one of those cocktails that gets better with every sip. It’s elegant without being fussy, comes together in minutes, and is perfect to hand to guests as they arrive. Since it’s a traditional Italian apéritif, it’s meant to be enjoyed before dinner. This sets the stage for rich, delicious mains like Shrimp Pesto Pasta, Chicken Piccata, and Easy Bacon Carbonara Pasta. And don’t discount the orange twist for how it’s utilized in this drink. Read my tip below in the Chef’s Note, and let your inner bartender out.

Chef’s Note
Don’t skip the orange twist, since it’s one of the most important parts of this drink. Expressing the oils from the peel is the key step. By twisting the peel over the cocktail, you’re releasing the fragrant citrus oils that help brighten and balance the Negroni’s signature bitterness. Finish by rubbing the peel around the rim of the glass, before placing in the glass or resting it on the rim as a garnish.

Can this be made ahead of time?
You can prep a pitcher of these beforehand if you want. However, these are really easy to make, come together quickly, and won’t really save you much time in the long run.
How to Store
- Serve: For best results, mix and pour it over fresh ice right before you plan to drink it.
- Store: If you want to prep a batch before a party, you can multiply the ingredient measurements by however many people you’re serving. Then pour them into a large pitcher. Mix again before pouring over ice to serve.Â
Ideas to Serve
Since this beverage is quite strong, make sure you’ve got plenty appetizers and snacks around to party responsibly. Some of my favorites to serve with this drink are Spinach Artichoke Dip, Bacon Jalapeño Poppers, Italian Antipasto Skewers, and Arancini with Spicy Dipping Sauce.
