Frequently Asked Questions
How many servings in a sheet cake?
My sheet cake recipes will serve about 24 people, depending on the standard slice size. I cut 4 sections following along the length of the pan, then cut 6 sections across the shorter width of the pan.
What size pan do I need for a sheet cake?
All of my sheet cakes are baked in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. In my recipes, I often refer to this as a large baking pan or a rectangular baking pan.
Is a poke cake a sheet cake?
Yes, poke cakes are just incredibly moist and sweet versions of sheet cakes. Usually they have a traditional flavor as the base, then you poke holes and add a pudding, syrup, or sauce to add extra sweetness, flavor, and moisture to the cake.
Can I bake these cakes as cupcakes?
Absolutely! All of these recipes can be adapted into cupcakes. The batter should make at least 24 cupcakes in a standard muffin tin. Bake for about 18-22 minutes at the same temperature as the regular cake recipe.
