These are kosher friendly Side Dishes to add to your Passover menu this year. Some are traditional favorites and some are new, delicious recipes to try at this year’s Seder table.

This collection of Passover side dishes will elevate your Seder meal like no other. All are chametz-free and kitniyot-free. Keep in mind seasoning ingredients like oils and vinegars will need to be certified Kosher (usually marked with a P), but I have hand selected every recipe to ensure the actual dish is Kosher for Passover. You won’t find any recipes with ingredients like flour, cornstarch, beans, grains, etc. I also chose recipes that do not include any dairy, even butter, so that they can be enjoyed alongside meaty main dishes like my Sweet and Sour Brisket. So whether you are hosting your annual Seder, or are invited as a first time guest, these side dishes can be enjoyed by all observing. Chag sameach!
Passover Side Recipe Ideas
Bring the flavor, keep the tradition, celebrate with joy!
Veggie Based
Classic healthy vegetable options with flavor are great to pass around the table. They are lightly seasoned with olive oil to let spring veggie goodness shine through!
Potato Based
Potatoes are the go-to side for a Seder meal because they are naturally Passover approved. And these recipes prove you don’t need butter to make them delicious!
Salad & Cold Sides
Serve up a refreshing side that is delicious and fresh! Just make sure any oil, mayo, or vinegar you use is marked certified Kosher.
Soups
Start your meal out with these light, Passover approved recipes. Or build your own soup with my flavorful Kosher homemade chicken broth.
The recipes I selected for this collection align with strict Passover Kitniyot guidelines as written to lessen confusion or mistakes. However you can find many more recipes on my site that can be easily adjusted to be appropriate. For example, many of my other Potato Recipes include butter, but feel free swap it for equal parts olive oil. For my Caribbean Curry leave out the black eyed peas, or skip the barley and swap the butter in my Stone Soup. There are so many options and swaps to choose from but no matter which you choose, I hope your Seder gathering is filled with delicious food and warm memories.
